What to Expect…
At Cornerstone Ballet we believe in building a strong dancer from the inside out. Our mission is to provide dancers with a professional quality dance education in a safe, encouraging and uplifting manner. We strive to not only build a sound dancer but to also create a program that fosters the development of self esteem, positive body image, responsibility, work ethic, and love for the art of ballet.
We believe that combining classical Russian ballet training with compassion and encouragement develops dancers who are strong physically, mentally and emotionally. We want our dance studio to feel like a second home to our students where they know they will always be greeted with love by the staff and other dancers.
We are thrilled to begin working with our dancers and welcome all the new faces into our studio. This folder is filled with information that you will need to refer to throughout the year. If you have any questions please let us know as soon as possible.
Portrait Week
Every spring our studio is transformed in to a photo studio that allows every one of our dancers to have their portrait taken. Dancers are photographed on a simple and elegant deep grey backdrop for a timeless and classic keepsake.
Dancers will wear their dress code uniform and we will provide the dancers with a white tulle performance skirt and a beautiful headpiece that will also be worn at recital.
Be sure to take a look around the studio to see the beautiful portraits hanging on the walls from years past.
Observation Week
Twice a year the parents and family members of our dancers are invited into the classroom to see and enjoy firsthand what the dancers are learning in class. This is a wonderful opportunity for dancers to grow in their confidence as they display their progress and accomplishments they are making in their training.
We strive to teach the dancers that not everything has to be perfect about their dancing to show it to loved ones. Progress, determination, and hard work are what make ballet so beautiful. Observation week allows our parents to truly appreciate the growth of their dancer and genuinely celebrate the dancer’s progress.
Recital
Our 2024 Spring Recital is tentatively scheduled for May 4th at the beautiful Simpsonville Arts Center right in Downtown Simpsonville.
Even our youngest dancers are included in the show. We limit our show times to less than 1.5 hours in order to keep the day enjoyable for the entire family. The recital fee is $125 and includes the participation fee, 2 tickets to the performance, the headpiece and tutu the dancer will wear and a professional 4K video download.
A dress rehearsal will be scheduled to take place at the theater. Dancers must attend this rehearsal in order to participate in the show. Your dancer’s dress rehearsal time and date will be sent out in the recital information email in January.
The Nutcracker - December 15 &16, 2023
Simpsonville’s First Nutcracker
Dancers ages 6 and up are invited to audition for our performance of the holiday classic The Nutcracker at the Simpsonville Arts Center.
Auditions July 29th at Cornerstone Ballet
Ages 6-12 - 10:00 - 11:00 AM
Ages 13+ - 11:15 -1:15 PM
Rehearsals will take place on Fridays starting in August with 2 Saturday rehearsals to set choreography.
Spring Performance Company

Dancers ages 8+ are eligible to be invited to perform in our full length ballet in April at the Simpsonville Arts Center. Due to the limited rehearsal time placement for this show is by director invitation only. Dancers interested in performing in one of our ballets should audition for our Nutcracker. Rehearsals for this performance will take place on Fridays at the studio.
